AS Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has denied an interest in Moise Kean and says the Everton striker is “not a target of ours”.

Kean has an uncertain future at Goodison Park after coming off the back of a disappointing season and breaching lockdown regulations this summer. The 20-year-old has been linked with Roma and Bologna, but Petrachi’s admission suggests there isn’t a lot of interest.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

He told Sky Sports via Football Italia: “I have never dealt with Kean, he’s a great player but not a target of ours.” Kean joined Everton for £24.75m from Juventus last summer and has gone on to make 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and making two assists.

It took the Italian international until January to find the back of the net and he spent his debut season behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the pecking order. Kean amassed less than 700 minutes of Premier League football, so it’s not a surprise he’s been tipped to leave.

Carlo Ancelotti has praised the centre-forward in the past, but he’s been linked with Hee-Chan Hwang, Hirving Lozano, Martin Braithwaite, Odsonne Edouard, Andrea Belotti, Sardar Azmoun and Victor Osimhen, so are Everton eyeing Kean’s replacement?
