According to Phil Kirkbride of the Liverpool Echo, Cuco Martina is ‘available for sale’ and could leave Everton this summer as a result. The 29-year-old joined Everton from Southampton in July 2017 and has gone on to make 28 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals.

Martina has struggled for form and playing time at Goodison Park, with his last Everton outing coming against Burnley on March 3, 2018. After falling down the pecking order under Marco Silva, the Curacao international was loaned out to Feyenoord in January 2019 and became a regular at De Kuip.

He now returns to Merseyside and is expected to link up with the Everton first-team for pre-season, but the report states that Martina’s days could be numbered. Marco Silva wants to trim the playing squad and lower the wage bill, so out-of-favour players will be put up for sale.

With Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny ahead of Martina in the right-back pecking order, he may have little option but to move away from Everton for more opportunities. The 29-year-old clearly isn’t in the reckoning at Goodison as the Toffees have been linked with Thomas Meunier and Kieran Trippier this summer. Where Martina will go remains to be seen, however.
