“We Know They Can Get On Your Case Quickly” – Pundit Believes The Pressure Is Mounting On Everton’s Manager

|

With another disappointing result for Everton on Saturday as Southampton took a pretty comfortable 2-1 victory over us, despite the late stoppage-time pressure we piled on at St Mary’s Stadium, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas stated that he believed pressure would really begin to mount now on manager Marco Silva.

With Everton having a clear slump in both form and results over the festive and New Year period, Nicholas said on the Soccer Saturday programme that he didn’t believe we would dip into the transfer market this month to ease the situation given the line coming out of the club about selling players first, and he felt it was just a case of seeing this period through now and looking to come out the other end.

“I don’t see them going into the market, because I think that’s already been done that business and I think they’re just trying to get through this period of time. He’s going to come under pressure now because these Everton fans who travelled today will not be a happy bunch, and we know they can get on your case quite quickly. It’s a hard time for Everton.”

It’s undoubtedly one of those moments for Everton but the club seem to have a clear plan in place in terms of strategy, so whilst the pressure grows from fans who want to see us return to winning ways and get ourselves back on track, I don’t see that we’ve hit the point yet where any real pressure is on Silva from the Board.

That could change if we don’t turn the corner but with recent managerial upheaval at some point we have to take the long term view and look for stability and see through a tricky patch without panicking.
