According to Tuttosport, Everton made a €45m ‘offer’ for Andrea Belotti but had it ‘rejected’ by Torino as he’s ‘not for sale’. Carlo Ancelotti has Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean at his disposal, but he wants a strong centre-forward to boost Everton’s pursuit of a top-four finish next season.
The 26-year-old joined Torino from Palermo in 2015 and has gone on to make 179 appearances in all competitions, scoring 85 goals and making 18 assists. He’s represented the Italian national team on 27 occasions and scored nine goals for his troubles too.
Belotti has impressed under Moreno Longo this season, having a hand in 18 goals in 31 games across the board, so it’s easy to see why Everton are interested. And with Kean being linked with a move away from Goodison Park, his departure would require the Blues to locate a replacement.
Ancelotti is very fond of Belotti and could lodge an improved bid, but his asking price is believed to be closer to €60m, so it would take Everton smashing their transfer record to sign him. Tuttosport say finances aren’t an issue, but it’s still important the Merseysiders are getting value for money.
Torino have Belotti tied down until 2022, so they’re under no obligation to sell him early or for less than his valuation.
