According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Everton ‘offered €50m (£43.66m)’ for Allan in January but saw their bid rebuffed by Napoli. Corriere dello Sport also say Gli Azzurri have slapped a €60m (£52.39m) ‘asking price’ on his head this summer.

Despite having Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies in midfield, Carlo Ancelotti is still on the hunt for another addition to the engine room.

Gbamin spent the majority of his debut season sidelined with a quadriceps injury, Schneiderlin & Delph have struggled for form & fitness, Sigurdsson could be sold this summer and Davies is out of favour due to poor performances, so Allan would be an upgrade.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

The 29-year-old joined Napoli from Udinese in 2015 and has gone on to make 203 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and making 16 assists. As per WhoScored, he made 16 Serie A appearances this season, scoring one goal and making one assist.

Allan created 13 chances, completed 87.6% of his 707 passes, made eight clearances, won seven aerial duels (53.8%), had 17 successful dribbles (65.3%), took 10 shots with 50% accuracy, won 23 free-kicks, blocked 17 passes/crosses/shots, gave away 28 fouls, whipped in 12 crosses with 16.66% accuracy and averaged a tackle (44) or interception (11) every 20 minutes.

Given Everton’s transfer policy under Marcel Brands has been to offload older players and bring in younger equivalents, it remains to be seen whether the Toffees would pay €60m for the 29-year-old. It’s hard to envisage Everton even putting up €50m in January.
