It’s the January transfer window, and every player that looks in a different direction will be linked with a move away and according to Craig Hope [DailyMail). Everton’s Anthony Gordon is once again linked with a move away from Goodison Park.

After links with a move to London with Tottenham and Chelsea all summer, in the January window, the direction has changed and now he is apparently off to the North East and to Newcastle United.

With Chris Woods’ move to Nottingham Forest, Newcastle who are flying this season (not jealous at all) have Champions League football on their minds next season and even if they fall short, they should finish with some sort of European football.

Last season, Anthony Gordon was a shining star in what was a poor Everton side. He played for the badge, gave 100% every game and made Evertonians proud. But, after being linked with a move away all summer it seems (in my opinion) as if he has started to believe his own hype and thinks he is the best player at Everton. He isn’t. Far from it.

In the home defeat last week to Southampton, Gordon came on as a second half sub and gave away a needless freekick on the edge of the box in which James Ward-Prowse found the back of the net. (We won’t talk about the freekick being in the wrong place, or Pickford not diving.)

Prevously, we reported that former red Stan Collymore believes that Everton could be tempted to cash in on the academy graduate and that Newcastle United, Manchester United and Arsenal should all keep an eye on the Kirkdale born 21-year-old.

If Newcastle or anyone came in with a bid of £30M+ for Gordon then I would seriously consider it. My only worry is. Do I believe we would use it wisely and invest it correctly? I’m not sure. But that is what Kevin Thelwell gets paid to do.

Let me know in the comments.

How much would you realistically accept for Gordon if a bid was made?

Or would you hold out until the summer and see if we can get more?

Should Everton sell Anthony Gordon?
