It’s fair to say that it’s been a tough season for Ademola Lookman at Everton so far. He’s yet to make a single start in the league for the Toffees, and though an exciting player, it’s clear that Marco Silva thinks he’s got a lot of learning still to do.
However, he proved just how much he’s got to give on Thursday night, owing to his performance for the England under-21s.
The Englishman picked up a goal and an assist, as well as the man of the match award, capping off a brilliant display.
He looked fantastic throughout the fixture, and he proved that he hasn’t lost a step despite his lack of action so far this season.
In terms of pure talent, it’s pretty clear that Lookman is more than good enough for Goodison Park. Is he raw? Sure he is, but Marco Silva has got to give him a chance. Can you imagine him alongside Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdson? That would be a truly devastating trio.
The future is certainly bright.
