The Blues will be relatively pleased with their start to the season given that they’ve had a new manager and new players to bed in and get settled.

Things do need to be worked on in certain areas but, overall, it’s evident that we are making decent progress and heading in the right direction.

We’re not yet at full strength, either, with a number of debuts still to be made but it looks as though we’re closing in on that.

Indeed, the Blues posted this exciting update on Instagram about a number of our injured players:

Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina were signed in the summer, of course, but we’re yet to see them feature for the club thanks to fitness issues.

They could be back sooner rather than later now, though, and that’ll be surely a good thing as we look to kick on up the league table this year.

  • Whilst I would like to think we are progressing, it is not in fact true. Yes more entertaining football is being played, but we are merely mid table. Sam Allardyce took us up 5 places from near the relegation zone to 8th in the table. That performance from the start of the season would have taken us up higher than 8th.
I am all for the new attractive attacking style of football, and hopefully this will produce results in future. Marco Silva needs to be given all the time he needs to produce results as well as the attacking style we are renowned for. Our great club deserves it and we have not been where we should be for a very long time now.
