Everton’s valiant performances under Marco Silva have caught the eye this season, with the Toffees losing just two of their last nine and suffering just one defeat at home in the Premier League under the Portuguese boss.
The former Watford manager has a run for his money as the most adored Portuguese man in the blue half of Merseyside though, as his compatriot Andre Gomes has attracted plenty of plaudits after arriving on loan from Barcelona in the summer.
Gomes has quickly established himself as one of the first names on Silva’s teamsheet and has become a fan favourite at Goodison Park, with plenty pleading for Everton to sign the European Championship winning midfielder on a permanent basis.
Everton have been posting their own advent calendar on social media in the rundown to Christmas and day eight featured Gomes, which provided supporters with another opportunity to lavish praise upon him.
