Report: Everton will have to pay €12m to sign 25 y/o midfielder, club keen to sell

According to Milliyet, Fenerbahce have slapped a €12m asking price on Ozan Tufan’s head and are keen to sell him this summer. The 25-year-old has been a regular at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium but needs to be offloaded due to Fener’s financial situation. Back in February, Fanatik said Everton held talks with the midfielder, so could they take advantage of this situation?

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Milliyet are quoted as saying: “(Fener) want to (safeguard) the (financial health) of the club and (have) determined names that can (be sold). The (club) does not want to decline if Ozan Tufan receives an offer. It is stated that 12 million Euros is spoken for Ozan and the separation is certain if these offers come.”

Despite Everton having Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies at their disposal, Carlo Ancelotti is on the hunt for another midfielder – Davide Frattesi, Morgan Sanson and Matias Vecino are among those being linked.

Tufan joined Fener in 2015 and has gone on to make 124 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and making 14 assists. As per WhoScored, the Turkish international has made 25 Super Lig appearances this season and had a hand in eight goals.

He’s created 35 chances, completed 82.5% of 1073 passes, won 24 aerial duels (54.5%), made 47 successful dribbles (74.6%), had 47 shots with 23.4% accuracy, whipped in 30 crosses with 26.66 finding a teammate, blocked 13 shots/passes/crosses, made 27 clearances, won 55 free-kicks, made 34 fouls and averaged a tackle (49) or interception (28) every 29 minutes.

Tufan looks a talented player and wouldn’t break the bank, but Crystal Palace’s interest may be a stumbling block. Time will tell.
