Report: Everton linked with £24k-per-week winger, could join on a free transfer

|

According to A Bola (h/t Sport Witness), Everton are interested in Yacine Brahimi and could make a move for the FC Porto winger this summer. The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and could be on the move from the Estádio do Dragão. With nine goals scored and created in 22 Primeira Liga starts, he’s in decent form and won’t be short of suitors.

Brahimi earns £1.3m-a-year/£24.4k-per-week at Porto, according to FIFA which wont break the bank. It’s just unknown how much Everton really need the Algerian international with Theo Walcott, Bernard and Richarlison at their disposal. If an existing player is leaving this summer, Brahimi would be a good replacement.

The wide-man has contributed 18 goals in 40 games in all competitions this season. In the Primeira Liga, he’s created 27 chances, made 71 successful dribbles (61%) averages 29 passes-per-game with 79% accuracy. For the sake of £1m-a-year in wages, Everton might consider Brahimi worth the gamble as they’re squad building for a top-six push next season.

He’ll be a cheap signing who has a good eye for goal and plenty of trickery to at least be an impact player for the Toffees. Time will tell if Marcel Brands looks to make a move.
