Report: Everton could offer €30m and €4m-a-year in wages to sign 26 y/o striker

According to Arena Napoli via Sport Witness, Everton are interested in Arkadiusz Milik and are ready to make a move for the 26-year-old this summer. Milik was in fine form for Napoli before the season was postponed due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the two parties are yet to agree on an asking price.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Milik joined Napoli from Ajax in 2016 and has gone on to make 109 appearances in all competitions, contributing 51 goals. As per WhoScored, the Polish international has been prolific this season too, scoring nine goals in 16 Serie A games.

He’s created 15 chances, completed 84.1% of his 320 passes, won 27 aerial duels (55%), made six successful dribbles (46%), had 55 shots with 41.8% accuracy, made 10 clearances, won 17 free-kicks and made nine tackles.

Milik’s playing time has been depleted due to injuries this season, having suffered a groin problem over the summer that caused him to miss three league games, a thigh injury in November that kept him out for four games and a knee injury in February that saw him miss one game, so his fitness record may worry a potential suitor.

Despite Everton having Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Moise Kean, they continue to be linked with strikers. The Toffees have been eyeing Torino centre-forward Andrea Belotti and Napoli’s Hirving Lozano, so Carlo Ancelotti seems to want another attacker to strengthen next season’s push for a top-six finish.

Arena Napoli say Everton are hoping to sign Milik for €30m-€35m (£26.5m-£30.9m) and are willing to pay him €4m-a-year/€77k-per-week (£3.5m-a-year/£67k-per-week). However, Napoli signed him for £30m four years ago, as per the Daily Mail, and agreed on a €2.5m-a-year/€48k-per-week deal until 2021, as per Gazzetta dello Sport via The Turin Crowd.
