Report:’ 24 y/o ‘received offer’ from Everton in January, club’s ‘intention is to sell’ this summer

According to Lance, Everton Cebolinha Soares ‘received an offer’ from Everton in January but no deal materialised. The Toffees could return for the 24-year-old this summer, however, as Gremio’s ‘intention is to sell’ him.

Lance believe Soares could be offloaded for a cut-price fee as the Covid-19 pandemic has pressured Gremio into accepting less due to their dwindling finances.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

The Brazilian international has made 179 appearances in all competitions since joining from Fortaleza in 2013, scoring 47 goals and making 17 assists. Soares has impressed for the Tricolor dos Pampas in 2019, scoring 15 goals and making seven assists in 42 games, so he could improve the Everton squad.

Carlo Ancelotti has Theo Walcott, Bernard, Alex Iwobi and Richarlison at his disposal, but Walcott could be sold this summer after struggling for consistency while Bernard has been offered to AS Roma.

Everton have been linked with Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard, Aston Villa, Jack Grealish, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Santos’ Yeferson Soteldo and Napoli’s Jose Callejon among others in recent months, so they’re expected to strengthen on the wing.

Soares has been on their radar for some time, but it remains to be seen if they’ll bring him to Goodison Park.
