Premier League duo fight Everton for £38m-rated forward

|

Everton are in the market for additional reinforcements during the January transfer window and one major area of focus is in the final third, where the Toffees lack a reliable goalscorer.

Last month, The Sun stated Marco Silva’s side were keeping tabs on RB Leipzig forward Jean Kevin Augustin, who faces an uncertain future with the Bundesliga side as he sits behind Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen in the club’s pecking order.

However, a fresh update from The Sun now claims both Wolves and Southampton are also eyeing a swoop for the 21-year-old forward but will have to offer a club-record fee of £38m in order to secure his services during the mid-season window.

Whether Everton will venture into the market to face off against their top-flight rivals remains to be seen but the forward has shown his capabilities by scoring three goals in 11 Bundesliga matches this season – and his age means he would be a long-term option for Marco Silva’s side.
