Could Everton sell Cenk Tosun and Sandro Ramirez following their return to first-team training?

|

Cenk Tosun and Sandro Ramirez were pictured training with the first-team ahead of Everton’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, but their future at Goodison Park is uncertain.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Moise Kean are ahead of the pair in the pecking order, but we’ve so far been unable to cash in this summer. The transfer window shuts on October 5, but will we get a deal done in time?

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Tosun has resisted leaving Everton

Everton want rid of Tosun, but the 29-year-old is desperate to stay. Despite scoring only 10 goals in 51 games over 32 months while being dropped last season (8 appearances and 328 minutes of playing time), Tosun still wants to fight for his place.

He turned down a move to Galatasaray and Al-Gharafa SC last summer, however, so it’s been difficult to move him on. We’re looking for £8m-£10m, but nobody is budging. Besiktas and Fenerbahce have been heavily linked but are yet to make a concrete bid.

Carlo Ancelotti loaned the Turkish international to Crystal Palace in January, so he clearly doesn’t have plans for Tosun. His fitness is in question too, as he’s only just returned from seven months out with an ACL injury, so he’s isn’t in any shape to make an impact. Tosun needs to admit defeat.

Clubs eyeing Sandro but are unwilling to lodge an official bid

Sandro has scored just one goal in 16 games over three years at Everton, so there’s little chance he’ll get a reprieve. The 25-year-old is in the final year of his deal too, so we have to cash in this summer or risk losing him for nothing.

Due to a lack of playing time at Everton, Sandro was loaned out to Sevilla (18 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists), Real Sociedad (26 appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists) and Real Valladolid (26 appearances, 4 goals, 1 assist) but didn’t do enough for them to turn the move permanent.

SD Eibar, SD Huesca, Elche CF, Real Valladolid, SC Braga and Sporting CP are interested in Sandro this summer, but there are only seven days remaining of the transfer window and little progress has been made.
