Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with a move to OGC Nice and president Jean-Pierre Rivière recently admitted the high-flying Ligue 1 club are closing in on a deal for the Everton midfielder.

Schneiderlin is coming off the back of a disappointing campaign and is expected to be sold this summer. Reports have stated that Nice could be landing his signature for considerably less than Everton paid back in 2017 too.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

When asked by France Bleu whether Nice could sign Schneiderlin this summer, Rivière said via Sport Witness: “It’s conceivable, yes”.

Carlo Ancelotti wants fresh legs for Everton to challenge for a top-six finish next season and has been linked with Adrien Rabiot, Allan, Angelo Fulgini, Franck Kessie, Morgan Sanson, Mohammed Kudus, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Davide Frattesi, Matias Vecino, John McGinn and Idrissa Gueye as a potential replacement.

Schneiderlin has made 88 appearances in all competitions for Everton, scoring one goal and making two assists. The 30-year-old has made 18/34 appearances this season, but he hasn’t set the place alight so he won’t be missed if sold.

Ancelotti still has Jean-Phillipe Gbamin when fit, Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies at his disposal, so the Blues aren’t short of existing cover.
