Report: Everton ‘offer contract’ to Brazilian international, ‘talks ongoing’ over personal terms

|

According to Nicolo Schira of Transfermarkt, Everton ‘have offered a contract’ to Thiago Silva. The Toffees want the Brazilian international on a one-year deal, but Silva is looking for a contract until 2022.

Schira adds that there are ‘talks ongoing’ over his personal terms, but it remains to be seen where the 35-year-old will end up this summer. Silva will have a lot of interest now he’s a free transfer, so Everton may have a tough task of landing his signature.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

After releasing Phil Jagielka, loaning out Matthew Pennington and releasing Ashley Williams without bringing in a replacement last summer, Everton are on the hunt for another centre-back – Carlo Ancelotti needs a defender to accompany Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate next season.

Everton have been linked with Jean-Clair Todibo, Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva, Gabriel Magalhaes, Marash Kumbulla, Christian Luyindama, Issa Diop and Tosin Adarabioyo, but Silva looks to be top of their wishlist.

The Brazilian international made 310 appearances in all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain between 2012-2020, scoring 17 goals and making five assists. He made 30 appearances in his final season at PSG, so Silva could be an asset for Everton.
