Everton offer midfielder new deal worth £100,000 a week

|

Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, is set to sign a new 3-and-a-half-year deal with the club worth £100,000 a week with his current contract at the end of next season, according to reports.

Iwobi signed for Everton from fellow Premier League side, Arsenal for a fee of around £30 million in 2019, which was highly criticised at the time.

In his first 3 seasons on Merseyside, he performed quite poorly overall, with some fans calling for him to be sold on multiple occasions.

However, since the arrival of Frank Lampard and his conversion to a ball-playing midfielder, he has shone for the blues, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet recently.

With his brilliant performances recently, he has been heavily linked to signing a new long-term contract with Everton, which Frank Lampard confirmed he was in talks for in a recent interview, alongside Jordan Pickford and Anthony Gordon.

According to The Daily Mail, the 26-year-old has been offered a 3-and-a-half-year contract worth £100,000 a week [via MSN]

The Nigerian’s current contract is worth a suggested £70,000 a week, meaning that signing this new deal would add a decent amount to his weekly pay slip and hopefully fend off interest from interested clubs such as AS Monaco
