Everton fighting rivals for winger with five goals in 11 matches

|

Everton have shown signs of promise under the guidance of Marco Silva but there is still plenty of work to be done, which could push the Toffees to be active during the January transfer window.

According to The Mail, Everton are amongst the clubs fighting for the services of Bruges winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld after the 21-year-old caught the eye this season – although he is currently sidelined through injury.

Groeneveld has been out of action since October with an ankle injury, which brought an end to his tremendous run of form as he had scored five goals in 11 appearances for his club, including an effort in the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, and also found the net on his international debut for the Netherlands.

That has led to a vast amount of interest in the Nigerian-born starlet, with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan also eyeing his services – the latter of which is already reported to have seen a £9m approach rejected.

However, his injury setback has not reduced the vast amount of interest in his services and his current Belgian employers are bracing themselves for bids.
