Everton agree 7-figure deal for striker with permanent move ‘imminent’

|

Everton have agreed on a 7-figure fee with Ipswich Town for striker Nathan Broadhead after the blues recalled the Welshman from his ‘underwhelming’ loan deal with Wigan Athletic earlier this week, according to recent reports.

Despite playing a pivotal role for the club’s youth sides in recent years, Nathan Broadhead only made his debut for Everton early in 2021, coming on as a late substitute in his side’s loss to Brighton in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old joined Sunderland in League 1 for the second half of last season and played a vital role in the Black Cats’ promotion to the Championship, scoring 13 goals in 27 games.

He was backed to rejoin Sunderland in the summer but instead joined fellow Championship newcomers Wigan Athletic on loan.

However, his time at the Latics has been somewhat underwhelming, only scoring 5 times in 22 appearances. It now looks like his loan move could be cut short.

According to Alan Myers, Everton have agreed on a 7-figure deal with Ipswich Town in League 1 for Nathan Broadhead and he is set to make a permanent move away from Goodison Park during the January window.

The toffees recalled Ellis Simms from his loan deal at Sunderland earlier this month as part of their search for attacking reinforcements but go into the January window still needing to sign some players if they have any chance of staying in the Premier League.
