Everton fans will be frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening.
The Toffees fell behind to Salomon Rondon’s goal before Richarlison levelled the scores before the break, although the performance did not improve in the second period and Everton were left with a feeling that this was two points dropped.
With clashes against Manchester City and Tottenham right around the corner, Marco Silva’s side may live to regret not securing a victory against a struggling Newcastle outfit and some players left a lot to be desired.
Lucas Digne has established himself as a fan favourite after his arrival from Barcelona in the summer but his performance against Newcastle left a lot to be desired, with many fans taking to social media to criticise his performance.
While he has barely put a foot wrong since arriving at the club, many expected more from the France international and we have gathered some of the comments regarding his midweek display below.
Shows that he never watched the game ! Digne’s delivery was fantastic ? This honestly the most frustrated I’ve been with a single player .. his delivery tonight was awful … really poor

Big fan of Lucas Dignè but tonight he couldn’t cross his legs… #efc

Digne was awful tonight as well. He needs to improve if he wants to keep baines out the side

Yes, Digne had a shocker. Delivery was awful, but hes allowed a poor game! Siggurdsson is always likely to create. You know, I think we had 14 corners and never won one header in their box! Even our goal was from their defender's header. On to Monday.

Shocking second half performance. Didn’t test the GK once 2nd half. Digne needs to learn to put quality crosses in & not just blast it in hope! @Everton #EFCMatchDay #EFCNUFC

Bad result. No one really played well and our end product was awful, particularly from Digne. The one big takeaway was that we need a ST. Tosun just hasn't taken his chances this season and DCL is not good enough to be leading the line. Lookman wasn't good, but wasn't bad either.

Digne cannot cross a ball and Sigurdsson doesn’t contribute enough – anonymous against reds and nufc. #efc
