21 goals in 27 games: Everton interested in £13.5m-rated hotshot

|

According to the Mirror, Everton are among the clubs interested in Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard for the summer transfer window.

The likes of Arsenal are also apparently interested in the £13.5m-rated striker who has hit 21 goals in 27 league games so far in another prolific campaign for Scottish champions Celtic.

Indeed, he has once again seemingly fired the Hoops to the league title north of the border but, at the same time, it seems fair to assume that he has proven himself too good for that league.

A step up to the Premier League could be the natural progression, then, but it remains to be seen if a club can make that happen as the Bhoys are bound to hold firm.

Good signing?

No

Of course, as they did with Moussa Dembele, eventually they may have to accept a price for the striker but they are bound to want some serious cash given the importance he offers to their side.

Both Everton and Arsenal can probably afford to pay whatever the Hoops would want from him, then, but that does not mean that the Blues should be held to ransom.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin in good form, there isn’t a massive urge to get in another new striker – though extra options in that position should be looked at for the summer.

And, that in mind, whilst interest in Edouard perhaps makes sense, the Blues will need to ensure that they only pay a figure that they feel is good enough – he is, of course, unproven at Premier League level despite his great goal-scoring record this season.

More stunning English arrogance! Everton? Ffs, I was a teenager the last time they won something. Ironically, there is a story in the papers today, where a footballer is advising another footballer “Do not to to Everton, it will ruin your career” 😆 Lets he honest, there is no chance of Eddie leaving the mighty Glasgow Celtic, to go to ..erm, Everton?! 😂
