Andre Gomes returned to training with the first-team on Tuesday and some fans couldn’t contain their delight on social media. The 26-year-old has been out of action with a fractured ankle since November and is already back in action after 86 days.
After Gomes’ injury blow in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham (November 3, 2019), there were fears he could be out for the remainder of the season. But now the Portuguese international could be a pivotal role during the second half of the campaign and supporters can’t believe he’s already back.
Feels good to be back with the team! First training session with the boys.

Gomes’ return is being hailed due to the speedy nature of his recovery and because he’s a talented player who will greatly improve the squad. The 26-year-old will provide energy to the Everton midfield, turnover possession to stop opposition attacks and keep the ball for longer periods.
He made nine appearances in all competitions before picking up the injury and will be keen to make up for lost time. Fans have been waiting for the Portuguese international to return and will eagerly anticipate seeing him back out on the pitch.
