Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media to reports by Il Mattino, via Sport Witness, claiming SSC Napoli are demanding at least €80million for Allan.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti is said to have requested that Director of Football Marcel Brands acquires the Brazilian midfielder before Friday’s deadline passes, and that he sees Allan as the ‘dream’ player to arrive on Merseyside this week.
Allan is aware that Ancelotti is keen to reunite with him following the Italian’s tenure at the San Paolo helm, but an official offer for his services has not yet been presented.
Everton’s position is likely tepid as Napoli are believed to want no less than €80m (£67.6m) for their nine-time international, who President Aurelio De Laurentiis intends to open contract negotiations with in February.
The imminent closure of the winter market has also left little time for a deal to be completed, and it is proposed that Ancelotti may return to Allan’s situation in the summer if the 60-year-old still feels as if midfield reinforcements are needed.
Would you back a late rush to sign Allan?
Yes
No
Napoli are believed to have a four-year deal ready for Allan to sign ahead of their planned discussions, which would see the Rio de Janeiro-born midfielder’s time in Naples extend to nine years following his arrival from Udinese Calcio in 2015.
Allan made 61 appearances under Ancelotti across all competitions during the Italian’s tenure at the San Paolo stadium, scoring once and assisting three goals.
The 29-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions this term, while averaging 3.7 successful tackles from 6.3 attempts per 90 minutes over his 14 Serie A outings, per WhoScored data, along with 0.9 interceptions, 0.8 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.4 successful dribbles.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Napoli demanding €80m for Allan…
Sounds like his agent fabricating this interest in an attempt to get the best possible contract for him in February.
Can’t imagine any scenario where we’d be interested. Even at the price we let Gana go for.

Keep him in the same place. There are still more suitable people and more value for money than they have.

In other Everton news, the club’s hesitancy could see Ancelotti miss out on signing a 41-cap midfielder this month.
