We’ve only made one signing in the summer transfer window, however, with less than three weeks left until the conclusion of the window, the rumours have intensified. Latest speculation continues to link us with a move for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.
As Talksport reports, we’re interested in signing Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford, and we’ve already had a £20M bid rejected for his services. The 25-year-old was voted the Hornets’ best player last season, and the midfielder concluded the campaign having amassed an impressive total of seven goals.
Obviously, the midfielder has already worked with Marco Silva, and he could prove to be a highly beneficial signing for us.
Here’s how Everton supporters have reacted to the rumours on Twitter.
In attack, Batshuayi would again make Everton a more dangerous outlook with the ability to play in behind defences or with his back to goal, and adding five targets – Mina, Digne, Doucoure or Zakaria, Richarlison and Batshuayi – would revolutionise this Everton side.#efc #EFC

Dunno how to tell you guys this but Abdoulaye Doucouré is not that good. Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be a far better signing for #efc. This @StatsBomb piece is worth your time: https://t.co/O07v1NTpQW

Got to admire Everton's audacity to continue pursuing Watford players despite the ongoing situation surrounding Marco Silva and the subsequent fall-out between the two clubs.
Richarlison and Abdoulaye Doucouré would both fit in really well at Goodison Park. #efc

Verdict:
The Mali international is exceedingly talented, and he illustrated his marvellous attacking qualities last season. His concentration is unwavering, and he’s a refined passer of the ball. He would be a good signing.
