Everton are fighting to find consistency under the guidance of Marco Silva and gave themselves a platform to build upon after beating Brighton 3-1 at the weekend.
The Toffees face a testing run ahead with visits to Chelsea and Liverpool over the course of the next three matches, which could derail their charge, but were in action again on Tuesday evening.
Silva’s side took the opportunity to face African outfit Gor Mahia at Goodison Park in a friendly and a strong team was named, with Yerry Mina, Ademola Lookman, Oumar Niasse, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all featuring.
The result was a comfortable 4-0 victory for the Toffees as Lookman, Niasse, Nathan Broadhead and Kieran Dowell all put their names on the scoresheet in a match that saw Everton crowned as winners of the Sport Pesa trophy.
Many fans were quick to all make the same joke as they celebrated the win and we have gathered some of the best reactions below.
