Everton are fighting for consistency under Marco Silva and the first few months of his reign at Goodison Park have been varied.
There are plenty of positives to take from the performances though, with summer signings Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes settling in well to life in the Premier League – and the hope is that others can kick on.
Colombia international Yerry Mina is another who Silva drafted into the club during the summer but the 24-year-old’s action has been limited, only earning his debut in a late cameo against Brighton at the weekend.
Everton fans were finally given the opportunity to see the former Barcelona defender in action on Tuesday evening as the Toffees clashed with African side Gor Mahia in a friendly at Goodison Park, where opinions on Mina’s performance were split.
Some were impressed with the display but others believe there is still work to be done. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
Yerry Mina is a snail & will struggle, Tosun is a snail & is struggling & Lookman is quality & needs to be playing on a regular basis ⚽️????⚽️ #EFC

Dowell and Lookman looked good. Mina has done what he has had too (not a lot). Holgate’s distribution awful.

Impressed with Mina on the ball. Davies and Lookman driving forward. Decent workout for the lads.

Actually quite enjoyed that! Loads of positives; Mina 90mins, Lookman class, return of McCarthy, the kids all looked comfortable including the young goalkeeper, Davies looked positive breaking forward like he did when he first broke on to the scene

Lookman was brilliant! Good to see McCarthy back. Mina looked comfortable. John and Gordon look really good players as well. Well done Blues.

Lookman & Davies the pick in blue tonight. Mina composed in possession but rarely tested defensively. Nice to see McCarthy seemingly come through unscathed
