Everton suffered defeat against Liverpool in Sunday’s Merseyside derby, which was hard to take given the valiant performance from Marco Silva’s side.
Divock Origi netted the only goal of the game in the dying moments to hand the Reds all three points at Anfield, following a major mistake from Jordan Pickford, but there will still plenty of positives to take from the performance.
Plenty of plaudits were sent the way of Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes once again, who continued his fine start to his Everton career with another solid display in the middle of the park – which left supporters drooling over the Portugal international.
Gomes has been a revelation for Everton this season, establishing a solid midfield partnership with Idrissa Gueye, and supporters have made it clear they desperately want to see the 25-year-old signed on a permanent basis from the LaLiga champions.
