Although the project is not guaranteed to go ahead, Everton CEO Keith Wyness remains confident that images of the stadium’s design, rumoured to be modelled off FC Cologne’s RheinEnergieStadion used during the 2006 World Cup, will be enough to swing a poll of the club’s shareholders and season ticket holders in the favour of its contruction.
The Liverpool Echo recently revealed that the stadium would be built by football venue specialists Barr who designed Celtic Park and St Mary’s.
