The news comes as the former Ajax midfielder was given permission to undergo a medical at Everton’s Bellefield training complex.
German side Borussia Dortmund have confirmed Everton’s interest and informed Sky Sports that the African is due on Merseyside shortly to finalise what will originally be a year long loan with the option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Pienaar is highly regarded by many and was originally bought by the German outfit as a replacement for their former Czech star Tomas Rosicky who left Westfalenstadion last year following an impressive World Cup.
