“Sooner the better” – These Everton fans beg 74-cap man to leave after he’s told to move

A few Everton fans have been pleading with Gylfi Sigurdsson to leave Goodison Park after the midfielder was urged to move to the Serie A by Iceland teammate Emil Hallfredsson.

Sigurdsson has struggled to replicate the form that saw him end the 2018/19 season as our joint leading goalscorer in the Premier League, having only converted one of his 24 shots in 13 top-flight appearances thus far this term.

The 30-year-old has also only registered one assist in the Premier League, and was slammed at the weekend for failing to create enough chances on an afternoon we would lose 2-0 to Norwich City.

Concerns were also raised over how well the £100,000-per-week midfielder used the ball, after Sigurdsson played just ten forward passes in the Canaries’ defensive third – only Mason Holgate, Morgan Schneiderlin and Cenk Tosun played fewer from the Everton players that started on Saturday.

If the 74-cap midfielder continues to struggle, he may look to leave the club, and Hallfredsson has suggested that the Serie A would represent a league where Sigurdsson would thrive.

In an interview with Fiorentina.it, the winger suggested that Sigurdsson is the only Iceland player that could cut it in Italy, saying: “He can play in all leagues, he’s a real number ten.”

Should the club look to sell Sigurdsson?

No, he has to stay

Yes, we have Iwobi
