The draw for the second round of the EFL Cup took place late yesterday evening and Everton enter the competition in 2018/19 with a tie against Rotherham United.
The newly-promoted Championship side will visit Goodison Park in the week commencing Monday, August 27.
Ticket details and a firm date will no doubt be with fans once discussions have taken place between both clubs and the authorities.
With plenty of hope and expectation surrounding Everton given the appointment of Marco Silva as manager and especially following our moves in the permanent transfer window, especially the deadline day arrivals we saw come in late on, plenty of fans have hopes for a decent Cup run to go with what everyone hopes will be a good, and better, year in the Premier League itself.
Here are some of the best responses to the Cup draw on social media.

Play the first team, Marco. No excuse to rest players this season with a lack of Europe. We want to win something.

Plenty of confidence ahead of the game, but no match in the Cup is easy and pride before a fall and all that. We could’ve got a more difficult start to the competition though so it’s over to Silva and the side to justify that confidence when the game rolls around and ensure we don’t become a headline scalp.
