Everton, I feel, got one of the signings of the summer in as Richarlison signed for the club from Watford.
The player got off to a top start at the weekend, too, as he scored twice in the draw with Wolves and I think we are going to see plenty of that over the coming seasons.
Many, though, made something of the fee we paid with Watford surely wanting to make an example of us given the whole Marco Silva fiasco.
Indeed, Marcel Brands has admitted that we perhaps paid over the odds for the player:

Whether we did or not is by the by, though, should we actually be making such public admissions?
What the player must think is one thing but, equally, are we not showing clubs in the future that we’re willing to spend more than needs be for a player?
Certainly, the market is crazy at the moment but there’s no need for us to make it even harder to try and keep prices down.
