Everton have rejected a bid from Ademola Lookman worth £12m from Red Bull Leipzig and, to me, that suggests his future lies at Goodison.

Apparently, we’re not going to sell him this window and so it looks as though Marco Silva has decided that he wants to work with him next season.

This, then, should excite us as fans.

Richarlison last season was a prime example of what a young winger can do under Silva and Lookman is in a very similar profile.

Short, direct and able to beat a man, rejecting a significant fee like £12m surely means that the boss has had his say in this.

Our new gaffer likes pacey wide-men and with us having a shortage of those, in all honesty, it looks as though we might get to see more of Ademola this year.

Let’s see, then, if he can replicate his form in Leipzig this campaign coming.
