After making his debut on Sunday night, some Evertonians think its time that former Manchester United graduate James Garner is given a chance from the start.

Garner came on for Idrissa Gana Gueye on Sunday and almost made an immediate impact testing David De Gea with a cross/shot and accoriding to manager Frank Lampard he believes Garner is “going to be a big player” in the upcoming future.

Everton travel to the capital on Saturday evening and with Gordon suspended for the game we could see Iwobi moved out wide, which would allow Garner to start in the middle with Gana Gueye and Onana as he offers something different with Lampard saying the following.

“He looks a bit different to our other midfield players in his attributes; his passing, his delivery of set-pieces and shots he can get away. He is a really clean striker of the ball in a sense of his passing.” – LiverpoolWorld

If Garner is given the nod from the start it will be intresting to see what role he is given to play, as when he signed he said he was a box-to-box player but if needed he can do the dirty work when needed.

“I’m a box-to-box midfielder who can play in different roles and can support in defence and attack. I like to support with goals and assists but can do the hard work, too, which is equally important.” – EvertonFC

What do you think? Should Garner get the nod from the start on Saturday?
