According to recent reports, 19 times Serie A champions, Inter Milan are interested in Everton, Yerry Mina and are willing to pay up to €10 million for his signature.

The Colombian International signed for EFC from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2018 for around £25 million [via transfermarkt], off the back of a very successful World Cup with Colombia, in which he played 3 games, scored 3 times and just missed out on the golden boot award for the tournament, an extraordinary record for a centre-half. One of these goals came against Jordan Pickford in the round of 32, which England would go on to win on penalties (I’m not used to saying that).

Since signing for the blues, however, Mina’s career has taken a turn from his 2018 World Cup campaign, being plagued with injuries throughout his 4 years on Merseyside, failing to complete more than 30 League games in a single season in the Premier League.

When he was fit, he was often lauded for his performances, being labelled Everton’s best centre-half on numerous occasions, but his inability to maintain fitness always made him a liability for the club.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb Inter Milan are interested in acquiring the signature of the 28-year-old and are willing to pay up to €10 million to take him off the toffee’s hands, but his wages may become an issue for the Italian club.
Slovakian defender, Milan Skriniar has been linked with a move away from Inter recently, which could be the potential reason for the club’s links to Mina [via PrinceRupertsTower].

Mina’s contract at Everton expires at the start of next season, so Thelwell and his team must be trying their hardest to get a deal over the line that sees the Colombian leave for any fee. Seeing as he is seemingly never fit when he is needed for EFC and has now fallen behind new-boys Conor Coady and James Tarkowski in the starting 11 since they both signed during the transfer window.

Should Everton let Mina leave in January?
