Report: Everton keen on 19 y/o with an 84% pass completion and 71% dribble success rate

According to Sky Sports, Everton are keen on Orkun Kokcu and could battle Arsenal for his signature. The 19-year-old joined Feyenoord from Groningen in 2014 and has gone on to make 46 appearances in all competitions since rising through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2018, scoring and creating 17 goals.

Kokcu has been a regular under Dick Advocaat this season, featuring in 34 games across the board and racking up 2726 minutes of playing time. The Turkish U21 international has contributed six goals in 21 Dutch Eredivisie games, created 30 chances, completed 84% of his 937 passes, won 30% of his aerial duels, made 25 successful dribbles (71%) and made 15 tackles.

Carlo Ancelotti isn’t short on options in midfield, with Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davies at his disposal, but Gomes has spent the majority of the season out with a fractured ankle, Gbamin hasn’t featured since August 2019 due to a thigh injury, Delph has suffered multiple injuries and Schneiderlin has been susceptible to knocks. Davies has been inconsistent this season too.

Kokcu could be a good addition at Goodison Park, but Feyenoord have no desire to sell him. The midfielder’s current deal at De Kuip expires in 2023, but Feyenoord are looking to extend his contract and offer improved terms to fend off interest this summer.
