Official: Everton midfielder suffers serious knee injury

|

Everton confirm that Morgan Schneiderlin will miss Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United after suffering a serious knee injury.

How will Everton fare against Manchester United?

Win

Draw

Lose

The 30-year-old is believed to have torn his meniscus and had surgery in the week to repair the cartilage. Schneiderlin will undergo rehabilitation with medical staff at USM Finch Farm, but it remains to be seen when he’ll return.

His injury is a blow for Carlo Ancelotti as he’d been in fine form of late. The French international has played in each of Everton’s last four Premier League games and helped them to two wins and a draw.

Schneiderlin has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, but his playing time has been decimated by injuries. The 30-year-old was out for a month back in October 2019, spent four weeks out with a calf injury in December and is now sidelined with a knee injury in 2020.

Andre Gomes could replace Schneiderlin against United. Tom Davies is an option too. Everton come into their meeting with the Red Devils off the back of four wins and two draws from their last six home games in the league, so they’ll fancy their chances of getting a result.
