Report: Besiktas ‘will make offer’ for Everton striker in January

|

According to Fanatik (h/t Sport Witness), Besiktas ‘will make an offer’ for Cenk Tosun in January. The 28-year-old has struggled for form and playing time at Everton this season and may have to leave to get first-team football.

Tosun turned down Galatasaray and Qatar over the summer to fight for his place in 2019/20, but he’s currently behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison in the pecking order.

Should we keep Tosun in January?

Yes

No

Besiktas could offer the Turkish international an escape route in January. President Ahmet Nur Cebi is keen to re-sign Tosun and is lining up a loan offer. It’s unknown if that would include a buying option, however.

Everton are unlikely to stand in Tosun’s way if he opts to leave as he’s made only five Premier League appearances this season, scoring one goal. The 28-year-old has racked up less than 300 minutes of football and featured just once in Everton’s last seven games.

Fenerbahce are also keen on the centre-forward, but Fanatik believe it’s more likely that Tosun will pick his former club – he contributed 77 goals in 142 appearances for Besiktas between 2014 and 2018.
