According to Italian outlet Lalaziosiamonoi – via Inside Futbol – West Ham have pulled out of the race for Jordan Lukaku.
The defender is currently at Lazio and his future remains unclear.
He has been linked with moves away this summer but could also sign a new contract with the Italian club suggesting he himself doesn’t really know what he wants to do.
A full-back, he’d obviously help out in our quest for a new left-sided defender but, at the same time, I am not sure if he is good enough.
That aside, Citta Celeste is reporting that we are interested and so it remains to be seen if West Ham’s withdrawal helps us out.
The Verdict
Lukaku is a familiar name for obvious reasons but I don’t think he’d have the same sort of impact as Romelu.
He’s a decent player with power and pace at the back but I think we can find better quality options at full-back this summer.
Hopefully we’ll follow West Ham and pull out.
