Everton threw away a 2-0 lead against Newcastle, ending the game 2-2 at Goodison Park, but fans still reserved praise for their best performers on the night. Moise Kean was singled out after scoring his first Everton goal and putting in a fantastic performance before his substitution.
The 19-year-old went 21 games without scoring but finally got off the mark on Tuesday. Kean linked up well with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, was dominant in the air, frequently beat his opposite marker in one-on-ones, didn’t give away the ball and could have bagged himself a hat-trick. Supporters enjoyed what they saw from him.
Moise Kean shoeing the difference it makes when your confident. Scored a goal and could/should have a hat trick. Very confident and powerful today and heavily involved in most of our attacks. Bernard also very good again! #EFC

Moise Kean what a game. That’s the lad we signed & who has a manager who knows how to get the best out of him. Next season he’ll be a beast!!! #EFC #EVENEW

Got to feel for DCL and Moise Kean who both put in monstrous shifts tonight. #EFC let down by one moment of poor concentration and another of pure panic.

Last nights result was disappointing However I saw plenty of positives. Bernard, DCL, Kean and Holgate thought were the best performers. We should have killed the game off in 1st half. Subs were not great but we dont have the strength on the bench #patience #EFC #ancelotti

We’ve all had time to get over how farcical those last two minutes were. Reality of the game, we dominated, Kean looked great him and DCL linked up well, Bernard is a magician, 14 games to go and we’re only 4 points from 5th with only 1 defeat in the last 9 league games #EFC

Against Newcastle, Kean played for 70 minutes, made 26 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 100% of his nine passes, had three shots with 100% accuracy, made three dribbles, drew three fouls, made one tackle and made one clearance.
It was arguably the Italian’s best performance since he joined Everton and could be the start to Kean hitting some form. He’s started in consecutive league games and has finally hit the back of the net, so Carlo Ancelotti could give him the nod against Watford on February 1.
