The Portuguese international returned to the Everton first-team after nearly a month out due to a rib injury sustained against Wolves in September, the Toffees last win in the Premier League before last Saturday, and Gomes picked up where he last left off by putting in a solid performance alongside Tom Davies in the midfield pivot.
The 26-year-old midfield maestro was warmly welcomed back to Goodison Park, and supporters on social media were buzzing to have Gomes back in the starting XI after missing out a crucial period of the season due to injury, with fans likely to expect results to pick up with the former Barcelona man back amongst the action.
