Real Betis have made an offer for William Carvalho this summer – according to Portuguese publication A Bola.
The Portuguese international midfielder has been linked with plenty of clubs in years gone by with Inside Futbol crediting us with an interest.
However, it seems as though we have lost ground in the race for the player with Betis looking to get him in from Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting, of course, are facing a mass exodus at their club this summer and so, ideally, if we want Carvalho we had probably better make an offer sooner rather than later.
The Verdict
Carvalho is a top player and I think he’d do a job for us, though he is not an urgent need really.
Certainly, though, if Marco Silva wants him to come in you get the impression we’ll need to act soon as Betis look to tie things up for the defensively minded Sporting man.
