A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media to reports by the Liverpool Echo, claiming that the club have been approached over a potential new shirt sponsorship deal.
The Toffees are currently without a shirt sponsor in line for next season after terminating our deal with SportPesa, which has seen the Kenyan gambling giant’s logo feature on our kits since 2017.
SportPesa have issued a statement to the Echo regarding the early end to the agreement, in which they noted that Everton are already in discussions to secure a new deal that better matches the club’s plans for commercial growth.
The Echo add that companies looking to become our new sponsor have been in touch with the club following Sunday’s announcement.
Would you be against another gambling company as our sponsor?
Yes
No
It is expected that the Blues will look to strike a new, club-record agreement as our deal with SportPesa gave the club the eighth highest income from shirt sponsorships in the Premier League.
No potential replacements for SportPesa have yet been named, though Everton could look to follow the top six in securing an agreement with companies within financial services, airlines or the motor industry.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to the Echo’s report…
