Not A Selling Club

It would seem West Ham owner Eggert Magnusson is hoping to make a real go of things this coming season, having already negotiated a fee with Newcastle United for Scott Parker.

The next pieces in the Boleyn jigsaw puzzle would appear to be our very own Andrew Johnson along with last season’s outstanding player Mikel Arteta.

Everton have once again move swiftly to silence any whispers that the duo could be on their way however.

Chief Executive Keith Wyness told Sky Sports News;

‘We have had no contact from any club nor would we welcome any.’

David Moyes echoed these sentiments, adding;

‘AJ was a top player at Everton this season and he will be again next season. The West Ham consortium wouldn’t have enough money to buy Andrew Johnson or any other Everton player.’

Moyes was also keen to point out West Ham’s lack of respect, stating;

‘And for them to think they could (afford Johnson) shows a lack of understanding of our game.’

Great news for Evertonians, who over the seasons have become used to seeing the club’s better performers shipped off.

This is a sign of ambition on the part of Moyes and the board and should be applauded.
