Newcastle are set to make an enquiry over potentially signing Everton forward Anthony Gordon during the January window, according to recent reports.
Everton reportedly rejected bids of around £45-50 million for Gordon during the summer, with Frank Lampard’s valuation of the winger over £60 million [via Sky Sports].
This astronomical valuation seemed to have prized all interested clubs away from potentially signing Anthony Gordon in the summer.
However, it seems that Newcastle United still hold an interest in the 21-year-old.
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are set to make an enquiry over potentially signing Anthony Gordon in the coming days, with Eddie Howe reportedly looking for a versatile attacker to replace Chris Wood, who recently joined Nottingham Forest.

Although Gordon remains Everton’s top scorer in the Premier League this season, his recent performances have led to him receiving a fair bit of criticism.
He has only managed to score 3 goals in 16 games this season, with his side sitting 19th in the Premier League with only half of the season to play.
Many Everton fans would now count themselves as lucky if they received an offer of anywhere close to £50 million for Anthony Gordon after his recent showings. If Newcastle were to offer anything close to that, they may force Everton’s hand.
