According to speculation around the internet, Romelu Lukaku is expected to leave Chelsea in the not so distant future.

The Chelsea striker, currently on loan at Everton doesn’t appear to be in Jose Mourinho’s plans and the Belgian international isn’t 100% set on a return to Stamford Bridge either.

Romelu Lukaku has so far been sensational in England.

The 20-year-old scored 17 goals in 35 appearances for West Brom last season with 15 of those appearances coming via the substitutes bench.

So far at Everton he has hit 5 goals in 7 Premier League appearances, a goal scoring ratio that in the top league in the world that would seemingly justify his £18million price tag from Anderlecht and yet he still doesn’t fit the mould at Chelsea.

An Everton source told SportsDirect News that they believe that if money was no option then he’d be open to staying at Everton.

‘It is unclear what long-term plans Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has for Lukaku, but the fact he was not in his plans at the start of this season says a lot,’ the source said.

They continued: ‘He has been enjoying his time at Goodison Park as he knows he is wanted here. However, whether we can afford him is a different matter.’

It’s unlikely that Everton could find the £25 million needed to prize the player away, while SportsDirect even link him with a possible move to Real Madrid.
