Back in March, The Daily Star linked Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim to five Premier League clubs, the 22-year-old who was born in Somalia but currently plays for the Norway Under-21’s was expected to leave the then Premier League champions at the end of the season.

With less than a year remaining on his contract he was linked with a £500,000 move to the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham and Everton.

He eventually went on loan to Stromgodset who have since won the Norwegian title.

It would seem that despite the changes of managers at both Manchester City and Everton, the link remains as strong as ever according to the Daily Mail.

Just like Roberto Mancini before him, Manuel Pellegrini is happy to let Abdisalam Ibrahim leave the Etihad and just like David Moyes him, Roberto Martinez would like to bring him to Goodison Park.

The paper also links previous interested party Arsenal, while adding Celtic, Crystal Palace and Hull to the mix.

While Abdisalam might also favour a permanent switch to Stromgodset.

‘Yes, why not. Everything is possible. I’ve come here, so one more year does not hurt.

‘Right now I’m not thinking about it. It still has not quite sunk in that we have won the league title. Now it will be good to take a vacation and enjoy ourselves.’
