It seems the September international break has come at the right time for Everton as Physioroom have reported that we currently have nine players out with injury.

The players listed are Theo Walcott, Bernard, Idrissa Gueye, Phil Jagielka, Michael Keane, Yerry Minda, Andre Gomes, Beni Baningime and James McCarthy. A number of those were known about but four are only expected to be out this week and one possibly next week, so they should more than come back into manager Marco Silva’s thoughts for when proper football returns and we face West Ham United at Goodison Park on Sunday, September 16.

With Walcott being tagged as a rib injury and having no timeframe at this stage, hopefully, he’ll be back in contention come then following his substitution in the second half of the Huddersfield tie as we will still be without Richarlison for that game.

It might be a first appearance of the season for summer signings Gomes and Mina a well unless they suffer any complications.

Good to see McCarthy getting close to a return as well.
