Image: Everton star reaches big milestone as his true influence becomes clear

Everton have signed some incredible players over the last few years, but in terms of sheer quality, few can compare to Gylfi Sigurdsson. 

The attacking midfielder has played for a few teams in England, like Swansea and Tottenham, but wherever he’s gone, he’s produced magic. A fantastic passer of the ball, few can hold a candle to his influence in the league going forward over the last few years.

His influence has never been clearer, though, owing to a recent post from his club. Everton recently confirmed that Gylfi’s goal against Leicester City earlier this month was his 50th in the Premier League.

Given that he only moved to England back in the 2011-12 season, and the fact that he’s not a forward, that’s a very strong record.

Perhaps even more impressive, though, is that he’s also picked up over 30 assists during that time. Goalscoring isn’t always his focus, yet he’s been so influential in that regard over the years.

Clearly, the Icelandic midfielder has more than just one string to his bow, and he’s looking back to his best again this season. Long may it continue.
